Cassette Store Day 2014 sees releases from Julian Casablancas, Karen O and The Gaslight Anthem
Cassette Store Day returns this year on September 27thwith releases from a range of artists, big and small, looking to generate interest in the recording format. Inspired by the success of Record Store Day, Cassette Store Day started in 2013 and has already generated a following of artists, fans and critics, this year even spreading across the pond with a US instalment.
Artists set to release music on tape for Cassette Store Day include big names like Julian Casablancas, Karen O, Foxygen and The Gaslight Anthem whilst bands with a smaller following like Dntel, White Lung and Cloud Nothings are also represented.
The most exciting cassette release for me has to be Circle Jerks, a hardcore LA punk outfit from the 70s, and their live recording Live at the House of Blues.
