Bubba Brothers returns to Mossdeb Sounds with ALEGRIA, a two-track EP that wastes little time establishing its priorities: percussion, movement and groove first, with enough melodic detail to push the project into a wider space.
“Alegria” lands with the more direct of the two approaches. The track is powered by a dense but controlled tribal framework, with organic percussion locking into a rolling pulse that feels designed for long blends and physical club systems. There is no need for excessive drama here. The tension comes from rhythm itself, from the way the drums keep folding into one another and gradually intensifying the floor.
What works especially well is the sense of motion. The track never feels rigid. Small changes in percussion, accents and texture keep the arrangement moving forward, while the warm groove underneath gives the whole thing a loose, human quality. It is functional house music, but not anonymous house music. 
“Guru” then lowers the temperature without losing the body. The second cut brings in a more melodic and atmospheric character, creating a deeper sense of progression while keeping the rhythm present. Where “Alegria” works through impact and repetition, “Guru” is more concerned with space, tension and the emotional pull between sections.
The contrast makes the release stronger. Rather than presenting two versions of the same idea, Bubba Brothers uses the EP to show two complementary sides of his sound: one rooted firmly in tribal house, the other moving toward a more melodic and immersive direction.
ALEGRIA is concise, club-minded and confident. It does not overcomplicate the message, and that is precisely why it works. Bubba Brothers knows how to build from the drums up, but “Guru” proves he is increasingly interested in what can happen above them as well.
