Austrian producer and DJ Tobias Bergson began his music path at 17 through computer programming and production. He creates emotive, melancholic tracks that combine dancefloor euphoria with intimate emotiveness, driven by a desire to share emotions and experiences via intricate, haunting melodies in a melancholic yet familiar atmosphere. Drawing from Deadmau5, Ben Böhmer, Rampa and Chris Malinchak, his music features elements of deep house, techno, progressive, lounge and house. This past weekend, he released the new single ‘Dream For Me’ via PLAYY. Records. With over 180 million streams to his name, he has earned support from Don Diablo, Lost Frequencies and Steve Aoki. His past releases include work on Armada and Universal Music Austria. Live sets have taken place at Spring Festival in Austria, and his tracks have landed on Spotify editorial playlists.
The single ‘Dream For Me’ is melodic techno at its core. It relies on off-kilter synth stabs placed in syncopation with engaging polyrhythms, backed by a booming bassline and a punchy rhythm section. A shift occurs as it breaks down into a lush ambient soundscape, after which the lively percussion returns to sustain the track’s drive until its close. Tobias Bergson adds to his body of work in the electronic landscape with this piece, which should connect with admirers of Franky Wah, ARTBAT and Adriatique.
Tobias Bergson had this to say: “At the time I produced this track, I was listening to a lot of Yotto’s music and was also trying my hand at remixing a few songs. That’s how this track came about. I felt that the melody had something unique about it in its own subtle way—something special“
